Kaya Coffee
Année : 2026
The rehabilitation of a café in Abidjan, designed as a warm and immersive space inspired by African craftsmanship, natural materials and contemporary hospitality design.
The project explores the dialogue between modern minimalism and local identity, creating an atmosphere that feels both refined and deeply rooted in its cultural context. The interior combines smoked teak, dark walnut, terrazzo, woven textures and handcrafted details, resulting in a rich and tactile environment.
Warm terracotta tones contrast with deep wood finishes, while patterned textiles and sculpted elements bring rhythm and character to the space. The café counter, wrapped in textured wooden modules, becomes the centerpiece of the project and reinforces the artisanal dimension of the design.
The layout was conceived to encourage different experiences within the café :
. a welcoming coffee counter and display area
. a comfortable lounge space designed for conversation and relaxation
. an open façade connecting the interior to the urban environment
Natural light, warm materials and layered textures create an atmosphere that feels intimate, vibrant and inviting throughout the day.
The result is a contemporary café identity that celebrates craftsmanship, hospitality and the sensory richness of African-inspired design.
